Regional Supply Arrangements for Rarely Used Urgent Medicines (RUUM)

The information is intended for use by Health and Social Care (HSC) staff who require access to medications urgently to treat patients.

This webpage carries details of the current authorisation and supply arrangements for certain rarely used vaccines, drugs, sera and other medicines for emergency use, collectively referred to as Rarely Used Urgent Medicines (RUUM).

The following medications may be accessed in urgent cases as outlined. Except where specified it will normally be the
responsibility of the receiving Trust to arrange transport.

The purpose of this list is to meet a patient’s immediate needs, and if required an ongoing supply should be arranged through Trust pharmacy or the Northern Ireland Blood transfusion Service as appropriate.
